Name: Dread Vordante
Bio: the Lord of Nightmares, Master of the underground city of
Panrik, the Crimson King, the Bogeyman, and various other titles
have been bestowed upon this ancient horror throughout his
existence. Hailing from an extra-dimensional void, Vordante came to
the human world because he sensed its lush life-force and magical
aura, which he intended to drain. An alliance of the Sorcerers
Supreme, the five founders of what eventually became the Magitek
Society, and several elemental spirits, fought against Vordante and
locked him away in a celestial prison deep beneath the surface of the
planet. Trapped but not without influence, Vordante called out to the
primal monsters of Earth and created his army, granting one of his
fangs to Baron Ironhorn as his sword and implanting one of his eyes
in the shield of the dark warlock Morkai. He dreams of one day
being strong enough to return to his physical form and subjugate the
universe to his own cruel ends.
Name: Baron Ironhorn
Bio: general of the dark army, Baron Ironhorn once lived as a
human tyrant who made contact with Vordante through dreams and
fell under his influence. Ruthless and totally dedicated to his master’
s cause, Ironhorn’s hatred for the Rangers borders on obsession. He
invaded the surface world years before to fight the previous
generation of Rangers and was sealed by them. Now he longs for the
day when the spell that binds him is released and he can walk
amongst the humans again, felling them one after the other. He
wields a broadsword forged from one of Vordante’s many fangs.
Nia (r) and Mara
Name: Noctaria
Bio: Ironhorn’s chief agent in the human world, Noctaria is a
malicious trickster who enjoys spreading discord in the human realm,
going so far as to provoke dangerous creatures to rampaging and
performing devious enchantments. She is the last of a vampire sub-
species originating from Ancient Egypt and one of several heir-
apparents competing for the position of High Queen. To conserve
her energy, she periodically divides herself into two counterparts, Nia
and Mara, who share equal aspects of the core personality, but
returns to her true self for battle.
Name: Morkai the War Wolf
Bio: an enigmatic armoured warrior with mastery over black magick,
Morkai serves the will of Vordante but does not bow to anybody else,
not even the fearsome Baron Ironhorn. Though imposing in presence,
he holds a vague but consistent set of morals and will not enter a fight
if he does not believe it to be honourable. His arrival is signalled by the
appearance of two ghostly wolves called Geri and Freki and he
controls a monstrous metal horse called Ebonis, with which he can
fuse to form the Glenstorm Megazord.
Blight-man Marshal
Name: Blight-men
Bio: the un-dead legions who serve Vordante’s generals, the Blight-
men are almost completely mindless and are driven by a desire to
feast on the living. The masks they wear are restraints so they can
carry out their appointed task without being distracted by the delicious
scent of flesh. They are under the thrall of Noctaria and Morkai but
when neither is available, they are overseen by the more sentient
Blight-man Marshals.
